Fashion Drawing & Illustration


Consists of communicating ideas through drawing and illustrations in a fashion context. Contains work tools and a development processes that are fundamental to being able to communicate ideas and messages. The objective is to learn how to translate inspiration into drawing and develop a personal graphic style in order to be able to oversee the preparation process in connection with a professional graphic presentation. Understanding of fashion and working graphically with fashion and expressing it through sketches to a professional visual expression.

The teaching must lead to the student being able to present his own design in a professional manner through drawings and illustrations. The teaching includes improving drawing technique, body awareness, balance, proportions and substance similarity. Through the use of knowledge about the use of details in clothing, the student must learn to integrate these into their own collections.

Syllabus

For each submission, the student must present a portfolio in accordance with the finished product, which is continuously further developed. The subject works with the following topics and techniques within fashion drawing and illustration: the human body, movement, sketching techniques, collage, coloring, proportions and silhouette, collection construction, presentation as well as fashion and trends.

The student must achieve a confidential relationship with the subject and thereby be able to pass on his ideas in an understandable way for the recipient and must present a portfolio for each submission in accordance with the finished product which is continuously further developed. A professional portfolio must be available for the exam.
