Expectations and Requirements
Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design takes your education as seriously as you do, and we welcome all the applications that we receive from all prospective students.
Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design has the following requirements for prospective students:
- All applicants must come to a personal interview (in special cases through Skype or phone).
- Applicants must be 18 years old or over.
- At the admissions interview, the applicant must bring creative work or artistic or practical creations for evaluation.
The emphasis is on curiosity, interest and knowledge of fashion, culture and society. Similarly, the emphasis on goals and willingness from the applicant side, an empathy and a desire to experiment. To be original in its expression, possess the ability to use the eye, and have a sense of form, color and material.
The school has the right to grant exemptions to applicants if they do not meet our requirements. This can happen if the school for example assesses candidates to provide extraordinary abilities within the subject or, if the applicants are living abroad and are not able to come to a personal interview.
Applicants will receive notification of acceptance of their application for admission to SAFD within 30 days of receipt. In special cases or if applications is received six months before starting school, the decision may, however, be drawn in a longer time.
Applicant must have a formulated business term and desire to assert themselves within the industry after graduation.
