Concept Development


Deals with the development and design of concepts and solutions for the target group. Value-oriented work is carried out with research, analysis, sketching, collection building and development of presentation portfolios with a view to formulating proposed solutions.

Syllabus

During the course, the students must work with research, analysis, sketching, collection building and development of a presentation folder. During the course, the student must be taught in various departments within concept development, from decoding the trends of the time to use in launching a brand.

Concept development is a fast and efficient method for creating a concrete solution based on the ideas you have worked with, and the students must therefore concretize the main idea behind the selected ideas, so that it is developed into a strong concept.

Learning Objectives

Knowledge

The student

  • Must be able to understand practice and central applied theory and method within concept development.
  • Must have development-based knowledge of theory and method within the development and design of concepts in relation to the practice of the profession and field.
  • Must have knowledge of development, to be able to concretize the supporting thoughts behind selected ideas, so that these are developed into strong concepts.

Skills

The student

  • Must be able to assess practical problems, as well as set up and choose concepts.
  • Must be able to use central methods and tools and design solutions for partners and users.
  • Must be able to convey and communicate solution proposals and use industry-related technical terms and terminology.
  • Must know the process from the creative impulse to a salable product and gain knowledge of the fashion cycle and gain insight into branding and global markets.

Competences

The student

  • Must be able to acquire new knowledge, skills and competences in relation to concept development in a structured context.
  • Must be able to handle development-oriented situations with communication.
  • Must be able to acquire fast and effective methods for creating concrete solutions based on the ideas that are being worked on.
