Questions and Answers
Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions we receive from our students – both Danish and international.
We recommend that you read this section carefully before signing up. If you still have questions, you are always welcome to contact us.
Classes are held in both Danish and English. We have participants from both Denmark and abroad, and our teaching style is designed so that everyone can follow along – even if you only understand English.
The teachers are accustomed to working in international learning environments and continuously adapt the language so that important professional information, instructions and feedback are accessible to all.
The emphasis is on visual communication, demonstrations and individual guidance, making it easy to follow across language levels.
To sign up, click the “Enrollment” button and fill out the form. Once you have signed up, you will receive a confirmation email.
Payment is made at registration and can be made with VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Diners, Maestro, Apple Pay and Google Pay. All prices are in Danish Kroner (DKK). If you cannot use one of these payment methods, please contact us for an alternative solution.
After registering, you will receive a detailed material list for the course in question.
Some courses require you to bring or purchase specific materials, such as fabric, sketchbooks, drawing tools or personal tools.
Any additional costs over and above the course fee will always be clearly stated in advance so you can plan your budget.
Sewing machines and relevant basic equipment are made available to all participants during the course.
Our courses cater to different levels of experience – from beginners to advanced.
Each course has its own target audience and we recommend that you read the course description carefully to assess whether the level matches your skills and ambitions.
In all courses, we emphasize individual guidance so you can develop at your own pace. If you already have experience, the teachers will help you deepen and further develop your skills.
We do not offer accommodation for students.
Instead, we recommend using platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com or similar short-term rental services.
We’ve also gathered useful advice and links to housing options in Copenhagen, which you can find via our housing page here.
Most students are between the ages of 18 and 35, but we welcome all participants over the age of 16 – regardless of age, background and experience.
Our courses attract a wide audience:
– young people with ambitions for a future in fashion and design
– students and entrepreneurs
– career changers
– passionate hobbyists
We prioritize an inclusive, respectful and professionally inspiring learning environment where diversity is seen as a strength.
Registration deadlines vary from course to course and depend on duration, class size and demand.
Spaces are limited and often fill up quickly, so we recommend that you register as early as possible.
The specific registration deadline is always stated on the individual course page.
Unless otherwise stated in the course description, you can withdraw and get the course fee refunded up to 14 days before the course starts.
After that, the registration is binding and the amount paid is non-refundable.
In the unlikely event that a course is not created, Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design will of course refund the full amount.
