Course Description

The Fashion E-Commerce course aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a professional webshop or portfolio that not only reflects their unique brand identity, but also allows them to present and sell their products online.

The course is structured around live online sessions, giving you the flexibility to participate from anywhere. Participants can create their own version, ask questions and create their own custom webshop or portfolio. The final phase of the modules includes individual 1-to-1 reviews, either online or in a physical setting at SAFD, to ensure that all participants’ questions and challenges are addressed in a personalized and professional manner.

Software

As a starting point, the course is offered in one version, working in Shopify. If working with Wordpress/Woocommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace or similar however, this is also an option.

Along the way, we will also work with other software, web coding, etc. and, all in all, participants are not required to have knowledge of the different software.

Support Schemes

There are various ways to get financial support for courses, programs and counseling. Your options depend on your current situation and whether you are unemployed, employed or already self-employed with your own CVR number.

Applicable if you have a CVR + minimum 2 full-time employees.

Applicable if you have a Danish CVR number, 0-249 employees and at least one closed financial statement

Applicable if you have a Danish CVR number, have growth ambitions of at least 500.000 DKK in revenue within max. 2 years and have an interest in unlocking or strengthening a green potential.

If you are employed and covered by a collective agreement, you can get support for competence development.

A-Kasse or Jobcenter

If you are unemployed, you may be eligible for courses through your unemployment insurance fund (A-Kasse) or jobcenter. It is your caseworker or jobcenter consultant who decides if you can be approved for a course with us. You should therefore contact your local job center or unemployment insurance fund to find out more about your eligibility for one of our courses.

Course Certificate

Once you have successfully completed our course at SAFD, you will receive a course certificate confirming your completion of the course and its modules. This certificate will strengthen your CV and expand your career opportunities, and it will symbolize your dedication, skills and knowledge of the course’s professional content.

Mats has worked with web development, fashion, graphic design and online marketing for more than a decade. Mats has developed websites and webshops for some of the biggest brands in Denmark and founded the web agency The Format.

Contents

This module focuses on teaching participants how to design and develop their webshop. This includes visual branding and design elements, as well as implementing the necessary features and integrations to create a professional look and feel and a great user experience.

You will be introduced to basic web design principles and we will identify and understand your brand’s DNA and target audience. In addition, we create visually appealing web designs that harmonize with your brand. Design elements are implemented using HTML, CSS and, where applicable, HTML. JavaScript.

This module covers the start-up and planning of the participant’s webshop. The mentor and participant work together to create a strategic plan that takes into account the participant’s wants and needs.

This module covers domain name selection and hosting solutions. Participants will learn how to register and configure their own domain and choose the right hosting provider.

This module focuses on adding customized elements and features to the webshop to make it unique and tailored to the participant’s needs.

This module covers the integration of third-party applications and tools to improve the functionality of the webshop, e.g. product integrations, analytics tools, etc.

This module teaches participants basic SEO techniques and strategies to improve the visibility and ranking of their online store in search engines.

This module focuses on creating quality content for your online store, including product descriptions, images and more to attract and engage customers.

We work with the creation of texts, images and videos to present products and brands. All texts, images and videos are reviewed and set up to suit your needs and your customers.

This module covers the selection and setup of payment gateways to enable secure online transactions on the webshop.

Once customers start buying, you need a way to process payments. Most payment gateways take a percentage of each sale, so it’s important to take this into account when pricing your products. We review the different payment gateways and integrate the one that suits your business best.

This module allows participants to receive individual guidance from the mentor, where any questions and challenges are addressed and resolved.

Process

1. Startup, Planning and Structuring

This is the initial phase where a plan is created in collaboration with the mentor to identify the participant's goals, wants and needs.

2. Design and Development

In this phase, we work on the design and development of the webshop with a focus on visual appeal and functionality, as well as the implementation of design elements, features, integrations, etc.

3. Optimization and Launch

Test the website for bugs and usability and once it is fully functional, launch it to the public.

No, you follow along at the pace and time that feels best for you. At the first meeting, we develop a plan that is tailored to your needs and wishes. Therefore, there is no requirement for you to be ready at certain times, as our desire is always to create a setup that feels calm and flexible for you.

Instead of learning software from scratch, the course focuses on advice and guidance to realize your concrete projects. You will be supported to solve specific challenges relevant to your own design or business.
