Grading


Containing a mix of theory, reflection and practical exercises, it provides a basic understanding of design and processing methods in order to achieve a sustainable development and product manufacturing process. The focus is on silhouette, proportion and fit in design solutions and size grading.

Syllabus

Throughout the course, students will work from basic molds and measurement schemes, testing the grading method on different models and production patterns. We will also teach sizes and target groups within the subject of grading, as well as jumps and the distribution of grading points.

Learning Objectives

Knowledge

The student

  • Must have knowledge of shape understanding - including sample measurement and grading principles.
  • Must have knowledge of theory, reflection and practical exercises in patterns and schemas.

Skills

The student

  • Must be able to change and vary proportions and body proportions based on methods and techniques.
  • Must be able to communicate technical details of styles to external collaborators.
  • Must be able to acquire methods and skills to analyze and develop target schemes to be formed based on grading rules.

Competences

The student

  • Must be able to select and analyze materials based on their form, function and performance.
  • Must be able to work and analyze styles in 3D perspective.
  • Must be able to communicate requirements for desired qualities, printing techniques and trimmings and set parameters for control.
