Material Testing
Provides knowledge of techniques, methods and processes in the field of materials as well as experimental technologies and design tools that contribute to process and product development, with a focus on materials technology and sustainability.
Syllabus
The students make three-dimensional observations and material tests in continuation of their research project. In addition, there will be work with print and color pigmentation in various designs and crafts such as lace, knotting and embroidery in new crystallizations with modern fabrics and thread. The students prepare new materials using bonding techniques, and knit with cut fabric and different types of yarn.
An individual course of study is run, where the teacher, after reviewing the student’s research project in collaboration with the student, guides each individual in relation to the student’s level to develop material samples, textile prints and finishes. Finally, students must complete a solution proposal that must include a selected material proposal.

- Must be able to make observations and develop physical material experiments and work traditionally and experimentally with materials.

- Must be able to build complete collections with programs as a focal point, including an understanding of materials and colors with a focus on trends.
- Must be able to acquire skills in the design process from idea to finished product and translate and research into real textiles and finishes at a high level.
