Draping
Consists of design processes and principles within design, product development and processing. Through the teaching, the students learn to see lines and shapes and to understand the interaction between idea, material, form and trends in order to achieve the excitement of the unlimited possibilities in the creative work process.
Syllabus
It starts with working in stout on the mannequin to achieve the basic understanding of the shape of the body. After this, basic forms for skirts and tops are prepared, after which work is done with thread directions, shapes and lines. Starting from the basic forms, the individual tasks are started.
This is followed by a draping task with a focus on origami/reconstruction. The students must gain an understanding of form and composition, proportional shift and material composition. In addition, creative draping and creative cutting as well as designing creative ideas for patterns in paper and stout follow.
