For many years, SAFD’s graduates have held fashion shows & events during Copenhagen Fashion Week and have thereby given their take on future fashion in the form of creative and craftsmanship skills. The invitees range from industry professionals, bloggers, influencers and journalists from home and abroad, to everyone who thinks that fashion is an essential field that is worth participating in and exciting to explore.
SAFD students are encouraged to act actively and investigatively during Copenhagen Fashion Week, experience shows & events, visit fairs, observe and record current events, work on expanding their network and make contacts in the industry.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is the Nordic region’s largest fashion event and takes place twice a year in February and August respectively. More than 40,000 international buyers, designers and press visit Copenhagen during this event. The major fairs Vision, Gallery, CIFF/CIFF Kids with a total of 1,100 exhibitors represent 2,400 international collections within the fashion and clothing category and are open to buyers from home and abroad.
Copenhagen Fashion Week aims to gather, support and facilitate shows, events and other similar activities during the fashion week as well as market and communicate these through a number of media and communication platforms. At the same time, it is Copenhagen Fashion Week’s task to offer a range of services that will raise the level and make the week more accessible to professionals. In addition, Copenhagen Fashion Week’s aim is to market the week internationally as an important fashion destination and to attract exciting fashion companies, buyers and media to the city – and not least to position Copenhagen Fashion Week as the “Fashion Capital of Scandinavia”.
